T.A. Scott Architecture + Design Expands to Provide Interior Planning, FF&E Specification Services

February 2022:  Dartmouth-based architecture firm T. A. Scott has recently added to their roster of available services with the hire of an Interior Specialist and LEED Green Associate, Caitlin Morehouse.  Caitlin joins the firm with more than fifteen years’ experience in the Interior Design field, which include time spent at a Knoll and DIRTT dealership (AOS in New Orleans, Louisiana) and running her own business, Morehouse Interiors.

As the eight-year-old firm has grown, the need for such a position became clear. In her new role, Caitlin is responsible for collaborating with the architects and clients to ensure that the exterior concept is followed through the inside of the structure. This can mean designing everything from finishes, to lighting and plumbing fixtures, and of course furniture.  Adding this position to the firm means T.A. Scott is now an option for clients both who want a ‘one-stop shop’ for architecture and interiors, and also those who need interior services exclusively.  These services can range from space planning, to finish and furniture selection, to moving interior, non-load bearing walls.

Says principal architect and owner Troy Scott of the decision,

“We felt it was the right time for our business, and we could see the need.  The key was finding the right person to fit with our talented team.”

Caitlin is a recently returned native Haligonian, having worked in New Orleans, North Carolina and Florida.  Her professional expertise lies in designing directly with clients, as is evidenced by winning residential design website Houzz.com’s “Best of Houzz” award for Service in both 2016 and 2017.  Her interiors are spirited, balanced, and always client-focused. Now merged with the skillful architects of T.A. Scott, the firm’s opportunities to create are virtually boundless.

Says Caitlin of returning home to the Maritimes and filling this role,

“Nova Scotia is transforming itself.  As designers, we have choices to make on what we keep in the landscape, and on what we elevate.  I could not imagine a more creative place to be right now and joining the T.A. Scott firm is an honour.  Together I anticipate creating projects that become part of our province’s new identity, while acknowledging our shared past.  It’s an exciting time to be Nova Scotian!”
